Fulham eyeing Bosman move for Kyle Walker-Peters

Fulham will reportedly look to seal a Bosman move for 28-year-old Southampton full-back Kyle Walker-Peters in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Sky Sports, Kyle Walker-Peters is the subject of interest from Fulham. The Cottagers are combing the market for a versatile full-back heading into the summer transfer window. So, the Southampton wide player has emerged as a target for the West London club, and they will aim to seal a Bosman move for the 28-year-old in the coming months.

Kyle Walker-Peters and his Southampton story

Kyle Walker-Peters has been a dependable performer for Southampton since arriving from his boyhood club Tottenham Hotspur in 2020. A native of London, the Englishman spent his formative years in his home city and graduated from the youth division at Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the 28-year-old could not establish a foothold in the first-team squad at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and he landed on his feet after joining Southampton. The Saints initially signed the versatile full-back on loan in January 2020 before completing a permanent move in the subsequent summer transfer window.

The English wide player has turned out over 200 times thus far for Southampton while chipping in with seven goals and 11 assists. However, Walker-Peters has only four more games left to play for the Saints, as he will depart from St. Mary’s as a free agent after the 2024/25 season ends. The situation has piqued the attention of several well-known Premier League clubs, including Fulham.

London return on the horizon?

Fulham’s interest in Kyle Walker-Peters makes sense. The Cottagers are combing the market for a right-back heading into the summer transfer window as they prepare to part ways with Kenny Tete. Like the Southampton wide player, the Dutch full-back will likely leave Fulham as a free agent when his contract expires on June 30.

So, several full-backs, including Anthony Caci, have emerged on Fulham’s radar, with Walker-Peters also a viable target for the West London club. The Cottagers are ready to open talks with the 28-year-old Englishman’s representatives, and the discussions will kick off after the 2024/25 season ends.

Walker-Peters’s impending free-agent status makes him an attractive target for Fulham. However, with other Premier League clubs also interested in the Southampton full-back, it will be interesting to see if the West London outfit can beat the competition to the English international.
