A verbal agreement between Bayern Munich and Florian Wirtz (21) has been reached, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
Bayern Munich are long-term admirers of the German international with their pursuit counted in months and years, not weeks. This could be the summer that they finally get their man. Foot Mercato understands that Wirtz has reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with the Bavarian club. German media have already reported that the attacking midfielder has opted to leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season. However, for now, there is not yet an agreement between Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayer are still trying to extend Wirtz’s contract; his current deal runs until 2027. However, there is a strong likelihood of a departure, either to Bayern Munich or elsewhere. Manchester City and Real Madrid are still trying to convince the player of a move with the former reportedly open to spending over €100m on the German.
