Bournemouth establish contact over Nicolo Savona move, face Everton, Fulham, West Ham United battle

Bournemouth have touched base for defensive target Nicolo Savona from Juventus, with some other Premier League sides keen too.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, a host of Premier League sides are battling for the signature of Nicolo Savona in the summer. Bournemouth have established contact for the 6ft 2in defensive prospect, with others like Everton, Fulham and West Ham United also keen.

Bournemouth have stepped a level up in their transfer activity, as some of their recent decisions to invest in certain players have paid off exceptionally well. Some of the club’s signings like Justin Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo, Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen are likely to attract big fees should the Cherries decide to sell them.

Focusing on Huijsen, the newly-capped Spanish international proved to be a solid buy last summer when key executive Tiago Pinto brokered a deal with Juventus. The defender has plenty of suitors ahead of the summer, with Bournemouth demanding suitors pay the £50 million written in his contract as a release clause.

With the club extremely happy with the Huijsen operation, Bournemouth are ready to explore the idea of signing another Juventus player. The Cherries are in contact to explore a potential move for Nicolo Savona, who was of interest to Manchester City back in January.

Manchester City have since shifted their attention towards Juventus’s other full-back Andrea Cambiaso. Savona might be on the market as Juventus could look to make a quick sale, with the 6ft 2in defensive prospect able to play right-back as his primary position but also capable of operating centrally.

Bournemouth in Savona tussle

Bournemouth are certainly eager to sign him and could use their recent relations with Juventus to broker a deal. However, they are not alone in the race as Everton and West Ham are interested alongside Fulham, as the Serie A defensive prospect could have some solid suitors from the Premier League.

Looking at how the players have developed at Bournemouth compared to the likes of Everton, West Ham or Fulham, Savona might consider a move. Andoni Iraola could even continue his stint as manager of the club, which would be a plus point, as the Cherries are indeed looking for an option at right-back amid the move for Nicolo Savona.
