According to The Mirror, Real Betis are facing the challenging prospect of signing Antony permanently in the summer owing to Manchester United’s steep asking price. The Red Devils are demanding €50 million to sell the Brazilian, with Real Betis president Manu Fajardo ‘vowing’ to keep the winger for next season.
Antony’s story this season has been tremendous for what he was at Manchester United and how he has performed while on loan at Real Betis. After having been discarded to a bit-part player this term at Old Trafford, he seems rejuvenated in Spain as he continues to flourish in Seville.
Real Betis have been talking to Manchester United to find a solution to keep hold of Antony beyond the summer. There have been suggestions they have held advanced conversations to find out how their chances are in terms of sealing a move for the Brazilian.
Real Betis supremo Many Fajardo’s recent comments appear to suggest a ‘vow’ to keep hold of the winger beyond this season. The report, going by the comments made by Fajardo states they could be open to the prospect of another loan deal for the winger.
Fajardo said, “It is a source of satisfaction on a personal level [to have brought Antony to Real Betis], but it is the result of teamwork. Although I am responsible for the sporting management, there are many people involved in this signing. It’s still early, but we will try in different ways to do everything possible to continue enjoying Antony.”
Real Betis are indeed thinking about another loan spell for Antony, although it will entirely depend on Manchester United and their stance on the winger. Other clubs are also interested in signing the Brazilian, with Atletico Madrid seemingly keen to explore a move.
Manchester United want €50 million to sell Antony, which could be steep for Real Betis. The Andalusian giants are struggling for funds and may have to make a big sacrifice to make ends meet. That remains their number one problem in signing the €50 million-rated rejuvenated Manchester United ace, in the summer.
Manchester United could make a big decision on the winger, which could also include considering another loan deal if that allows them to improve his market value. The big worry is regarding his contract which expires in 2027, meaning the upcoming window might be the best time for the Red Devils to sell the attacker.
