Salih Özcan to leave Borussia Dortmund

According to Florian Plettenberg, Salih Özcan could be set to leave Borussia Dortmund before the end of the transfer window.

When Özcan joined Dortmund in the summer of 2022, there was great expectation for the midfielder to kick on at the Westfalenstadion.

However, the 26-year-old has since struggled to replicate the form that was frequently on display at FC Köln, which has subsequently left his future at the club in the air.

Despite a number of reports linking Özcan to a move to Turkey over the past twelve months, the midfielder has remained at BvB, but this could now be about to change.

It is understood that the 26-year-old is exploring the possibility of departing Dortmund this summer, with BvB open to negotiations.

Hannover 96 have shown interest in his services, but a transfer is not considered realistic at this stage.

Therefore, it is unknown where Özcan will be plying his trade next month, but there is hope from all involved that it will be away from the Westfalenstadion.
