AC Milan set to sign Kyle Walker permanently

AC Milan are prepared to sign Kyle Walker permanently following a decent loan spell from Manchester United, with a contract until 2027 already in the works.

According to Milan-Live, AC Milan are reportedly ready to sign Kyle Walker from Manchester City permanently. The Rossoneri will seemingly sit down with the Premier League giants to figure out a deal, with a contract until 2027 already in the works for the Manchester City veteran.

Kyle Walker left Manchester City in the middle of a season that was not going in the usual direction. The veteran defender sealed a loan move to AC Milan, where he has been able to play without the pressure of the English media as well as the fans.

He did hit the ground running at the San Siro and has taken over the right-back position from some of his younger competitors like Emerson Royal. The latter may not have a future beyond the current season at Milan, meaning the club could make a different plan to solidify the position.

AC Milan had ideas to sign Walker permanently, and now they are prepared to open talks with Manchester City to find a solution. The club have already planned a contract for the Manchester City veteran, with a €4.5 million salary likely to be on offer.

Milan are ready to offer Walker a deal until 2027, as the defender’s preference is yet to be clear on the situation. Reports were stating the Manchester City veteran was poised to make a return to the Etihad, although now it appears that may not be the case.

Manchester City to replace Kyle Walker

Manchester City had looked at Nicolo Savona back in January to replace Walker, although at the time Pep Guardiola resorted to internal options to focus on spending money on other pressing needs in the squad. Since then, Matheus Nunes has taken over the right-back slot with Rico Lewis occasionally playing there.

There are some other names that Manchester City are probably looking at in the summer, as Guardiola is unlikely to persist with the Nunes experiment. The club will need a replacement for Walker given the important role he had in the squad, as the veteran now looks destined to join AC Milan permanently.
