According to a report from Football Insider, Everton will have to break the bank to sign Mika Biereth from AS Monaco ahead of next season. David Moyes is keen on reinforcing his offensive unit, and the Danish international is seen as an attractive option for the Merseyside club.
Biereth was a part of the Fulham and Arsenal youth ranks back in the day. He had quite a few loan spells away from the North London club before being permanently sold to Sturm Graz last summer. The youngster’s impressive performances for the Austrian club resulted in a move to AS Monaco during the winter window.
The Ligue 1 giants spent £11 million to sign the 22-year-old striker, who has 34 goal contributions this season, 15 of which have come since his January move to Monaco. His performances have not gone unnoticed as multiple top clubs in Europe are keen on his signature.
Everton are one of the clubs that are keeping a close eye on Mika Biereth as they look to bring in a new striker to reinforce their offensive unit. While Moyes has done a great job since taking over at the Toffees, he is well aware of the fact that they need more firepower in the final third.
The Everton manager is not convinced that Beto can be the leader of their attack moving forward with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s contract running out. As a result, he wants a new number nine and is pushing to make Evan Ferguson’s loan deal permanent.
But the Merseyside club are looking at Mika Biereth as a better fit for their project. Even if they do decide to push for the signature of the former Arsenal star, they are not going it find it easy. It has only been a few months since he joined AS Monaco and his contract there runs until the summer of 2029.
The Ligue 1 club consider him an important part of their plans, and they won’t let him leave on the cheap. Everton will have to fork out a “big, big fee” to sign the 22-year-old who has made quite a name for himself with his consistent performances.
