Fulham, West Ham United vying for Felix Agu

Fulham and West Ham United are eager to explore a move for Werder Bremen full-back Felix Agu who is available for €8-10 million in the summer.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Felix Agu is emerging as a viable target for Premier League sides Fulham and West Ham United ahead of the summer. The Werder Bremen full-back has a release clause worth €8-10 million, which is valid until the end of May.

Premier League clubs might be cash-rich compared to most clubs from the other top five leagues, and yet, they are always on the lookout for bargain signings. Felix Agu, who plies his trade with Werder Bremen as a left-back, as he is reportedly available for a low price ahead of the summer.

In a season where Agu has missed nearly two months with an injury, he has still been one of the key performers for the Bundesliga side. He also has three goals and a single assist in 17 Bundesliga games, which tends to show the attacking side of his game from a left-back role.

Florian Plettenberg states the 25-year-old Bundesliga full-back has a release clause in the region of €8-10 million, which is valid until the end of May. It could be quite confusing considering the transfer window only opens on June 1, which would suggest that clubs can still trigger the exit clause before that date.

Fulham and West Ham United are those keen on the 25-year-old full-back, with the London duo likely to look for a new left-back in the summer. Fulham, for instance, could have big interest coming in for Antonee Robinson, and Agu could be a cut-price option if they are certain the USMNT star will depart.

West Ham could target Felix Agu

Agu could also suit Graham Potter’s transfer plans ahead of the summer, with West Ham likely to be in the hunt for a new left-back. There are links to Kyle Walker-Peters, while there are doubts about the future of Emerson Palmieri, as Potter wants the club to back him in the transfer market, as a left-back is understandably part of his plans.

The release clause for Agu will be seen as a tempting prospect for either Fulham or West Ham, although the expiry timeline of the clause could make matters tricky. It will be about those clubs having the conviction in their interest in the 25-year-old full-back, which will in turn force the issue of triggering the €8-10 million release clause.
