Tottenham Hotspur told they could miss out on Marcus Rashford

Tottenham could miss out on the chance to sign Marcus Rashford as the player would prefer a team in the Champions League.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham have little to no chance of signing Marcus Rashford in the summer. A potential lack of Champions League football could cost Spurs in the transfer market, as players like the 27-year-old Manchester United star would prefer a team playing in the premier European competition.

Marcus Rashford has no future at Manchester United following the events leading to the 27-year-old’s exit from Old Trafford in January. The winger has managed to get back to his best form while on loan at Aston Villa, with Unai Emery’s side holding a £40 million buy option in the deal.

There are considerable doubts about whether Aston Villa will sign Rashford permanently, as they might consider the finances before agreeing to any deal. Hence, the 27-year-old Manchester United star might find himself in the market, and given his recent performances, there will be big interest.

Barcelona are keen on Rashford, as the Catalans were the 27-year-old Manchester United star’s preferred choice as per reports around the January window. The Spanish giants could be a tempting option if they were to turn up with a serious offer to negotiate with the Red Devils.

There’s another club in the mix for Rashford, as Tottenham are interested in the winger ahead of the summer. Spurs were eager to sign him before his move to Aston Villa, and it appears they might make another attempt at convincing the 27-year-old Manchester United star ahead of the summer.

Marcus Rashford to snub Tottenham approach?

While Tottenham might show an interest in landing the winger, Rashford has no interest in joining the north Londoners. He does not want to play for a team without Champions League football, as Spurs’ only chance to enter the premier European competition is by winning the Europa League.

Rashford will prefer other clubs in the equation when the summer comes, as he’s expected to decide on his future after the season ends. Spurs could make a compelling proposal if they win the Europa League, as without Champions League football, they have no chance whatsoever of landing the Manchester United outcast.
