According to Football Insider, Tottenham are ready to push forward and battle Bournemouth for the opportunistic signing of Feyenoord teenage attacker Zepiqueno Redmond. The 18-year-old Dutch attacking sensation will be free to move out of the Rotterdam side as he is yet to agree on a new deal.
Many Premier League sides are increasingly looking at the hottest young prospects from within their country as well as others. Feyenoord are known to produce some notable talents from their youth system with the likes of Jurrien Timber, Lutsharel Geertruida, Orkun Kokcu, and Crysencio Summerville as some of the names from there.
This season they have seen the rise of one Zepiqueno Redmond coming through the ranks, with the forward breaking into the first-team plans. While he has only played modest minutes in the Eredivisie and a few in the Champions League, the teenager is already considered an emerging talent.
The issue for Feyenoord is his contract, with Redmond’s current deal running out this summer. Tottenham are angling for a move for the 18-year-old Dutch attacking sensation ahead of the summer as his availability on a free transfer is certainly a big temptation for the north Londoners.
The fact that Feyenoord are yet to find an agreement with the teenager to renew his deal is another big boost for suitors. Spurs are not alone in this chase as they are competing with Bournemouth, who could present a solid enough proposal especially if they end up qualifying for a European competition next season.
Tottenham are in the market for many players in their youth, as they are keen to continue their drive to build on a solid youth project. The club are earmarking many of those young names to be signed, with Southampton star Tyler Dibling a player of serious interest. Similarly, they are chasing other targets, with Gambian talent Gibril Sima also on their list.
Spurs are also among the many teams chasing Como talent Nico Paz, and overall these links show they are keen to continue their youth drive ahead of the summer. Tottenham are optimistic about building a squad for the future, and from their efforts so far, they see to have a good balance in that aspect.
