According to a report by Spanish outlet AS, Dodo is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, and Juventus are also keen on signing the Fiorentina full-back in the summer transfer window. However, the four clubs are behind Barcelona in the battle, with the Serie A club demanding €25 million to part ways with the Brazilian wide player.
Domilson Cordeiro dos Santos, better known as Dodo, has established himself as one of the best full-backs in Serie A since joining Fiorentina from Shakhtar Donetsk in July 2022. A native of Taubate, the South American wide player spent his formative years in Brazil and graduated from the youth division at Coritiba FC.
The 26-year-old moved to Europe in 2018 and cut his teeth at Shakhtar Donetsk and Vitoria Guimaraes. However, the player has found a stable footing during his spell with Fiorentina, going from strength to strength in the last three years.
The Brazilian full-back has turned out over 100 times thus far for Fiorentina while chipping in with one goal and nine assists. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur are among five clubs vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.
Barcelona’s interest in Dodo is understandable. The Catalan giants are scouring the market for a right-back, even though Jules Kounde has been a revelation in the position, as Hansi Flick wants multiple top-notch options for every spot. So, several candidates, including Andrei Ratiu, have emerged on Barcelona’s radar, with the Fiorentina full-back also a viable target.
As for Tottenham Hotspur, Pedro Porro has been top-class since arriving from Sporting CP. However, Djed Spence faces an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, compelling the North London club to comb the market for a right-back. Interestingly, Ratiu is also a target for the Lilywhites.
Meanwhile, the Fiorentina wide player will not cost a bomb, with the Serie A club demanding around €25 million to part ways with him. Barcelona should have the funds to afford a deal worth €25 million for the 26-year-old Brazilian full-back despite the never-ending financial issues. The valuation should pose no problems to Tottenham either.
