Predicted Real Madrid lineup against Getafe: Endrick, Guler to start; Mbappe still unavailable

Endrick and Arda Guler will make rare starts for Real Madrid against Getafe at Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Wednesday night.

Real Madrid will aim to keep pace with Barcelona atop La Liga when they lock horns with Getafe at Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Wednesday night. Carlo Ancelotti has no new injury concerns hampering his preparations ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao are long-term absentees, and the duo will not play again this season. Ferland Mendy and Kylian Mbappe are the other absentees from the travelling squad, although the duo is closing in on returning to action ahead of this weekend’s Copa del Rey final.

Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Ancelotti provided a fitness update on Mendy and Mbappe. The Italian tactician said, “They’re not ready for tomorrow’s game. They’ll train over the next few days, and I hope they’ll be available for Saturday’s game.”

The Real Madrid manager also responded to questions about revealing his starting lineup for Wednesday’s clash. He said, “The starting XI for tomorrow will be decided based on how the players are feeling after Sunday night. I think they’ve recovered quite well in training today, but some are still a bit tired, which is quite normal. We’ll see tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Ancelotti discussed Endrick’s progress and his assessment of the Brazilian striker. The Italian tactician said, “He’s progressing and working very well. He’s playing more now because there are games where we need his strength and quality.”

Endrick will likely return to the starting lineup on Wednesday, leading the line for Real Madrid against Getafe. Arda Guler should reprise the no. 10 role, with Brahim Diaz and Rodrygo starting on the flanks. As for the midfield unit, Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni will pair up in the double pivot.

Thibaut Courtois will retain his spot between the sticks, with the away side lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation in front of him against Getafe on Sunday. The backline should feature Lucas Vazquez, Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba, and Fran Garcia, with Rudiger the only player to retain his place in the defensive quartet.

Predicted Real Madrid XI: Courtois; Vazquez, Rudiger, Alaba, Garcia; Valverde, Tchouameni; Brahim, Guler, Rodrygo; Endrick
